The Research team from UNSW Sydney has demonstrated how infrared radiation can be used to generate electricity. A Semiconductor device called thermoradiative diodes were used to conduct this experiment to generate electricity. The Thermo radiative diode generates electricity by emitting infrared light into a colder environment. According to the research team, this technological breakthrough would help in generating electricity in future, which was not possible before.
