The youth orchestra of the University of Tasmania and the Singapore National Orchestra are collaborating for a research project. This research project will help members to analyse the educational and organisational factors to encourage high-quality performance, opportunities, and healthy, resilient attitudes in young musicians. Dr Bill Baker and Ms Kyna Hart (Tasmania Youth Orchestraxs General Manager), recently travelled to Singapore. There, they met with Ms Siu Yuin Pan, the leader of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra. Dr Baker said, To see two orchestras from two islands working together like this is really inspiring. He also said that “We are aiming to help youth organisations to develop resilience, so at the end of the project, we will use what we have learned to assist other arts or youth organisations in developing a positive and supportive culture.”
