The School of Computing and Information system at the University of Melbourne has collaborated with Algorand Foundation To teach cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies to master’s students. Algorand Foundation, a leader in decentralized, scalable, and secure blockchain infrastructure, has granted a fund of $ 400,000 to the University of Melbourne. By funding this project Algorand Foundation will play a major role in developing blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies.CIS’s Associate Professor Joseph Bonneau, an expert on cryptocurrency and blockchain, has created this course for master’s students. This subject includes the fundamental ideas from mathematics, economics, and computer science that underpin blockchain technology. This subject was introduced to students in the first semester of 2022. Head of CIS, Professor Aicklen, said “Educating our students and community with the knowledge and skills to engineer our future is at the heart of our mission,”
