The bubble column method, created by RMIT University in Melbourne, Victoria, is a new method of carbon capture. The process involves bubbling flue gas through liquid gallium at 100–120°C. The CO2 is activated, causing the metal to oxidize. The carbon is trapped and accumulated on the pool's surface.
