RMIT University, Australia has collaborated with the Judith Nielsen Institute for journalism and ideas. Researchers at FactLab RMIT university will help to investigate and expose the misinformation and disinformation on social media during the federal election campaign. Factlab is an RMIT research hub at RMIT University that aims to raise and spread awareness. Russell Skelton, director of RMIT University said, “We have seen the harm caused when misinformation spreads unchecked on social media. Exposing disinformation is the new frontier in election coverage. Arming voters with the facts can lessen the impact of scare campaigns.
