A world-first centre for contemplative and consciousness studies opened at Monash University on 25th May 2022. This centre at Monash University will help to make the collaboration between the subfields of philosophy, neuroscience, medicine, psychology, education, and interfaith dialogue. It will also help to contribute to new research, educational, and community engagement initiatives. Last year, the Three Spring Foundation’s Martin and Loreto Hosking approved the fund of $ 12 Million to open this centre at Monash University. Jakob Hohwy, professor and director at the centre, said that “Understanding consciousness is one of the great scientific questions of our time and research and teaching in these spaces is fundamental to making the world a better place”.
