After appearing in court in southeast Queensland, a Brisbane woman, Chloe Kavanagh accused of fraud for paying another lady to acquire the COVID-19 vaccination on her behalf was fined $2000.
When the vaccination requirement went into force last year, Chloe Kavanagh, a casual teacher with Education Queensland, was facing losing her job. She found another lady prepared to get the vaccination in her place for $1000 through an internet classified site.
When the lady posing as Ms Kavanagh couldn't pronounce her surname or recollect her date of birth without consulting her driver's licence at the Kippa-Ring Vaccination Hub in December, the scheme fell apartAfter being turned down, the two were successful later that day in getting a vaccine from a drugstore in a neighbouring shopping mall.
