After a meeting on its registration was postponed by the committee that decides on funding, the future of a club for pagans, witches, and Satanists at the University of Adelaide is in doubt.
The Adelaide University Occult Club began in late 2020 and was temporarily registered with the Adelaide University Union (AUU) in early 2021, however, an application for full registration was denied earlier this month.
Instead, it will be decided by the AUU's clubs committee next month. Registration gives groups access to funds as well as space and equipment within the university. The application had not been denied, according to AUU president Oscar Ong, but had been "tabled" for a later judgement, which he described as "normal process."
